A partnership between the Israeli owner of Lamamma (importers and distributors of "Mediterranean" products) and a westernized Indian lady who had worked for him.
A cafe. The food is (a) three hot items, (b) a cold table with a row of salads and another row of olives, marinated peppers, eggplant and the like, (c) some sandwiches and (c) baking. There are also shelves of Lamamma products at a good price.
Now the buffet, which is the feature. You take a bowl, which comes in three sizes,$8.50, $12.50, $14.50. and the lady behind the counter fills it up according to your choice. We shared a $14.50 bowl
Don't worry about chaotically bellicose Indian cooking; it is not so. The Indian lady has a gentle touch. Her cooking is wonderful, beautiful. And interesting. She has a greater freedom with flavours than you otherwise expect in a cafe. I think that she cooks in her own way and not from someone else's recipes.
The cold stuff from the Lamamma cans and jars is pretty good but suffers from two
disabilities. (a) It is from a can or jar, which has to limit quality. (b) It suffers from being on the same plate as the wonderful house prepared things.
Cheap for the quality, lots to eat. Very worthwhile even without taking value for money into account.
Go for lunch. A nice new facility. A few outdoor tables also. Easy and ample parking. Friendly, helpful service.
