We were excited to return to Logan brown since our last degustation dinner there 2 years ago. Started off the dinner with an old fashioned cocktail and a beer. The waitress told us to only order the bistro menu because of the time constraint. However we were keen to order from the A La Carte menu so the waitress had checked it was ok before ordering. We had apple smoked salmon and westcoast whitebait as entrée. Loved the horseradish panna cotta from the salmon and the crispy white bait. Freshly shucked oysters were next. For mains, we had 21 day aged beef fillet and stout braised beef cheeks, skinny fries and green asparagus to share. There was also rare beef in the beef cheeks dish. The beef was tender and tasty. The beef fillet was perfectly cooked. The parsnip puree was smooth and well seasoned, loved it! Got to have a dessert to finish this enjoyable meal, lemon cake, rhubarb sherbet, lemon mouse and strawberry. It was rather refreshing. Service was good, however the waitress forgot our oysters so it came after the entrees. Seating was comfortable and it was a pretty relaxing environment to enjoy quality food.
