What a great brunch! Well, our companions were awesome, but the food here is really a cut above the others as well. The menu has some typical items, but is packed full of some more unusual offerings as well.
We ordered some coffees which were well made and top notch. I'm not sure who supplies their beans, but they convert them into some worthwhile coffee. We had a couple each in the end.
I ordered the pork sub and got a toasted flat bun topped with a light and tasty salad and decent chunks of pork belly. Quite scrumptious. One of my companions got eggs bennie, but with a non-typical addition of braised short rib and chipotle. It looked good, and their plate was cleaned up. My other companions both got the Japanese crepe which looked and tasted fantastic. Light, fresh and packed full of fresh crab and salad, it was lucky I got a sample before it was eagerly devoured.
This is not a huge cafe, and in wet weather it would be well worth booking before you show up. But I suggest you do pay them a visit - fresh, delicious and different. Do it soon.

Child Friendly Kind of

Popped in just for a mid morning coffee/drinks with the kids. First time I'd been here and was fairly quiet when we arrived mid morning on a Friday. Not sure where their allocated parking is but parked in The Colombo mall car park (ignoring the "parking is for The Colombo customers only"). Maybe they don't have a car park or its street parking only. First impressions from outside was that it was a cute wee villa and inside was warm and cosy. I thought it was tiny on entering but then realized it opened up out the back to a long room. We ordered a latte, hot chocolate and juice at the counter and went to find a table out the back. Whereas there are a lot of cool features on the outside and in the main room by the counter, the back room area was pretty lifeless. Waitress came with water and kindly poured our glasses for us but managed to slop water each time she poured the three glasses so it went all over the table. No apology and no cloth to clean it up. Got the feeling she wasn't bothered. Drinks arrived - coffee was good although little attempt at latte art (maybe I expect too much!). Hot chocolate was good and they gave an extra couple of marshmallows to the juice drinking child which was a nice touch (and stopped the bickering!). A few people arrived after and had breakfast which looked nice - especially the scrambled eggs. Would pop back to try the brunch.

Love, love, love this place! Staff were super welcoming and friendly - very attentive. I had Velvet Pancakes with Black Doris Plums and they were just amazing and presentation beautiful. Obviously prepared with love and care!
Had the best coffee I have had for quite a while.
I will definately be back (and in the very near future)
Thank you very much Hello Sunday for a spectacular brunch

Really like the environment - quirky describes it well. Plenty to look at. Menu has a few unusual additions to the usual brunch fare. Display cabinet had very tempting rolls, but in the end went for the eggs benny.
Found it a bit of a mixed bag. Eggs were just perfect, great hollandaise, but wasn't overly sold on the potato cake and left half of it. Came with little chunks of smoked salmon rather than slices - still trying to decide how I feel about that. Cheese scone was quite perfect - light and tasty and crispy on the outside. Companion polished the plum/chocolate pancakes at speed. Meals are beautifully presented, very instagram-worthy. Service very pleasant and food arrived reasonably promptly given the number of people there.

Have been wanting to try this cafe for sometime and today was the day, husband and I were greeting warmly, seated at a very cosy table for 2 - small but precise menu - one of the best haloumi salads I have had in ages and it was no problem to add a poached egg, husband enjoyed his eggs bene with smoked mushrooms. Coffee was great, service was exceptional.

Party of five including Mrs Bing & Master Bing and a couple of Bing-in-laws. We had thankfully reserved a table for brunch and were seated quickly, coffee orders taken, water on the table and meal orders taken. Hard to pick from the menu as so many things sounded great. In the end we had 4 x Eggs Benny (with options of smoked mushrooms and/or bacon selected) and 1 x Black Doris and Chocolate pancakes. Coffees came quickly and were very good - quite a mellow brew. Food was prompt and beautifully presented. Eggs almost glowed with good health and the smoked mushrooms were a fantastic addition as was the perfectly cooked bacon. Pancakes were a treat with a real integration of the chocolate with the pancake so not sticky. Really exceptional service throughout. The venue is quirky, retro and fresh and clean (a rare combination) and added to the atmosphere. Only real sour note was that we sat by the front door and too many patrons were born in tents. Certainly not the cheapest brunch in town at $137 for the 5 of us but very good value for the money spent. We will be back as there are a few other menu items that demand attention!

Popped into Hello Sunday for morning tea with a few girlfriends. We ordered coffee and a selection of cake, only one of which was made in house (nutty cheesecake number). They really should make more of their sweet items in house as it was far superior to the uninspiring, tasteless cakes made offsite. Some of the cakes were also very dry. Coffee was good and service excellent. Will return to try more of their inhouse food, as I hear they do excellent breakfasts but I will definitely be asking what was made by their chefs vs offsite.

Visited Hello Sunday on a Saturday mid morning for brunch with 2 friends. We all arrived at different times but within 10 minutes of each other. We were all asked soon after sitting down if we wanted drinks and these came out reasonably swiftly. My flat white was good if not slightly unappealing aesthetically. Our meals took a while but they were busy so this was to be expected. My fritter with Portobello mushrooms, tomatoes & a jalapeńo salsaverde was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Very flavoursome and filling. The service was fantastic. Staff appeared to be happy and were all friendly. The only downfall was the noise. Very hard to hear my friends talking at times and I had to lipread a few times. Other than that I had a good experience and would definitely go back. I want to try their baked beans and also their croquettes.

two flat whites, not great, a little on the milky side for my liking. One Eggs Bennie with bacon, perfect eggs, crispy bacon as requested and lovely hollandaise sauce all on top of a beautiful hash brown. cabinet food looked delicious. Great service and lovely atmosphere except the front door opening and closing on a miserable day. I will be back
