SKYCITY THROWS OUT THE CORPORATE CUPCAKE CHALLENGE
SKYCITY Auckland is today throwing out the challenge to other major corporates to get on board with Cupcake Day on Monday 31 August in support of the SPCA. The day will see young and old alike don their aprons, bake cupcakes and descend on their schools, work places and social groups, selling their goodies to raise funds for the SPCA.
SKYCITY’s special contribution will be 2,000 cupcakes to be sold on the corner of Queen Street and Vulcan Lane, one of the three cupcake hotspots in Auckland on the 31st.
“The SPCA do such great work in our communities and we’re delighted to get behind Cupcake Day, raising money and awareness. We’re putting out the challenge to other corporates around New Zealand to back this initiative by getting on the website and registering their support and encouraging staff to get involved,” says General Manager SKYCITY Hotels Group Auckland, Simon Jamieson.
‘We are delighted with the initiative shown by SKYCITY in leading the corporate charge on Cupcake Day’, says Bob Kerridge, Executive Director of the SPCA in Auckland. ‘We know that they, and others who join them, will raise valuable funds for the animals at the SPCA, and have a great deal of fun doing it!’
Keen bakers should visit www.cupcakeday.co.nz to register, for recipe ideas and competitions such as ‘Most Creative Cupcake’, ‘Extreme Cupcake Eating’ and ‘Most Money Raised’. 100% of the proceeds raised on Cupcake Day will go to the SPCA to help continue their valuable work.
